Halloween

The sweet smell of candy. The spooky decorations around the neighborhood. Can you guess what holiday this is?

That’s right, it’s halloween time!

I love the holiday. The candy is only part of it for me. Probably my favorite part is the costumes. This year I am going as Bilbo Baggins from the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings movies. What are you going as? Tell me in the comments so I can see what the popular costumes are this year. I have a feeling that morph-suits will be a big one again.

I have this problem with candy. I really like to save it for future use, but sometimes I save it for too long and it becomes bad. If anyone could help me with this that would be great.

Here are some cool facts about halloween.

1. 50% of kids prefer to get chocolate candy while 24% prefer non-chocolate and 10% prefer gum.

2. Jack O’Lanterns were originally made out of turnips.

3. Ireland is typically thought of as the birthplace of halloween.

4. Halloween has been called Hallow’s Eve, Witch’s Night, Lamswool, Snap-Apple Night, Samhaim, and Summers’s End.

5. In 2010, 72.2% of people will hand out candy, 46.3% will carve a pumpkin, 20.8% will visit a haunted house, and 11.5% will dress up their pets.
